IF it was published by a newspaper, I contact the newspaper or the publisher. They usually have the right name for the author and very often the Hebrew name of a book subsequently published in English.
MRS _____ From: owner-heb-n...@lists.acs.ohio-state.edu [mailto:owner-heb-n...@lists.acs.ohio-state.edu] On Behalf Of Dickel, Geraldine Sent: Monday, March 09, 2009 12:30 PM To: heb-naco@lists.acs.ohio-state.edu Subject: Rut Ariel (Rapaport) Hi all, I would like to ask for help! I have the book Ḥomot by Rut Ariʼel (Rapaporṭ). There is no information about previous titles published by this author on the book. On the back cover it is written that this title was published in Hebrew and in English in two different newspapers, and in English as a book which became a best seller. There are two authority records, one for Ariʼel, Ruti, who wrote Lo ashʼir otakh levad, [2003], and Rapaporṭ, R. |q (Ruti) who wrote Mah she-ratsiti li-heyot, 2005. We do not have either of these books. The one record (minimal level) in OCLC that has a call number, gave this book the classification number for Ariʼel, Ruti. Does anyone know if she is the same author as one of the two authority records, or is she a third person? I have not found any clues from doing an assortment of Internet searches. I haven't found a record for an English edition. Thank you, Jerry Anne Dickel Yale University Libraries Hebraica.
