The cataloger who proposed the more recent heading (“British Chief Rabbinate”) should have included documentation supporting the idea that the “Office of the Chief Rabbi of Great Britain” I other than the “British Chief Rabbinate”, or alternatively, that the preferred name has changed.
While I don’t want to change a non-law record, the “British Chief Rabbinate” also has an erroneous 410 from “Great Britain. Chief Rabbinate” since the Chief Rabbi of Great Britain is NOT appointed by the government, it really should not be set up as if it was a civil service position.
