Hi, Dainy, thank you for your question.

From just the title, it appears that the book is a comparative study of
regional conflicts. There have been a number of comparative studies between the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict and other regional conflicts. See for example,
Contested lands, 2007 (ocm71552461); or Global liberalism, local populism, 2006
(ocm62593566). There are also many comparative studies of conflicts in other
regions.

I wonder if subjects such as Comparative politics; Conflict management; Ethnic
conflict; Peace-building; and/or Peace, subdivided by the form heading |v Case
studies, would apply to your title. A possible class number for the above
subjects would be JZ5538, general works on the promotion of peace/peaceful
change.

Of course, if you think the book is more specifically on the general
Arab-Israeli or Israeli-Palestinian conflict, then using DS119.76 would be
correct. Just be sure that the first subject given in the 650 corresponds to
the class number chosen.

(Also, please note that the author's surname is romanized Liʼel [not Liʼal].)

Please don't hesitate to reach out with further questions. Kol tuv, Jasmin

Subject: [Heb-NACO] Call number for title: וכיתתו : אירלנד, קפריסין ודרום אפריקה

Hi all,

I'm processing this title below, which has a call number assigned to it in
OCLC, but I think it's an incorrect call number corresponding to an incorrect
heading.

The call number right now is DS119.771, corresponding to the heading
"Israel-Hamas War, 2023-" However, the book is not about this particular
conflict but about the Israel/Palestine conflict more broadly.

The majority of the book is actually about locations other than
Israel/Palestine, though the goal of the book is to use Ireland, Cyprus, and
South Africa as examples for I/P. So it could be argued that the book should be
in DS rather than, for example, GN496 (Anthropology—Ethnology. Social and
cultural anthropology—Cultural traits, customs, and institutions—Societal
groups. Ethnic groups—Intergroup relations. Diplomacy—General works) - [that's
just a quick example, I didn't dig too deep into it yet].

A better DS number for this could be DS119.76, more generally about
"Arab-Israeli conflict" without pinpointing it to October 7 (the book does
mention that its topic is important "especially after October 7," which many
books now are doing but still don't belong in DS119.771).
