Dear safranim,
I am currently cataloging what appears to be an early edition of Masekhet
Avodah Zarah, tentatively dated [1520–1523] and possibly corresponding to
Vinograd 29. The volume lacks a title page, so the place and date of printing
cannot be confirmed. My efforts to identify it have also been complicated by
the absence of digitized copies of the earliest editions for comparison.
This volume comes from the Taube‑Baron Collection held at Stanford University
Libraries.
The copy in hand appears to incorporate text from multiple sources, and the
pagination is irregular. I have attached several images illustrating where the
pagination shifts. For reference, here is a summary of the gatherings as they
appear:

  *   Leaves 1–78 (first group)
  *   Leaves 1–5 (second group)
  *   Leaves 8, 7, [unnumbered leaf], 8 (third group)
  * Leaves 10–17 (third group continued)
  *   Leaves 78*–81 (fourth group)
  * Leaf 78 corresponds to leaf 78 in the first group ** This leaf differs in
text from the earlier leaf numbered 8
If your institution holds a copy of this edition, or if you have access to a
digitized surrogate or bibliographic references that might assist in
identification, I would be very grateful for your guidance.
Due to their file size, the images will be sent under separate cover.
Thank you very much for your time and expertise.
Sincerely, Heidi Lerner
