Hi,

thanks Jakub, I was planning an announcement later today :-). So I guess this
is it:

In [mainline,1471] I just merged the next phase of my work on the
internet/networking stack. Most of the old stack is gone, namely:
 - net (packet server), udp, icmp, eth
 - most of libnet (except parts needed for socket API)
 - old ping utility
and these are replaced with:
 - inet (Internet layer service, IP+ICMP)
 - ethip (Ethernet link provider for IP, a.k.a. IP over Ethernet + ARP)
 - udp (New implementation)
 - new ping utility
 - inetcfg CLI for run-time configuration

One small problem which needs to be addressed: currently you cannot ping
localhost :-P. This is because the legacy loopback implementation no longer
works. Also the socket API/implementation will receive an overhaul in the
future.

I will be adding a networking section to the User's Guide soon.

If you find any bugs with networking, please file tickets.

Thanks,
-Jiri
