It would be nice if a third person (Martin?) could have a careful look at this. I have just got too confused to think about it any further.
As I am currently "porting" your RCU implementation to HelenOS, I already have a bunch of questions to it, probably much more trivial than the case you are describing here. But I assume that we get to it, too, sooner or later :)
