I would like to get some feedback from people that do HelenOS
development on the possibility to move or copy the round table part of
the HelenOS meeting agenda to a Google hangout that would take place
sometime before each meeting (Friday evening or Saturday morning of
CET/CEST).

This would allow about three or four people who are not usually able to
attend the meeting for geographical reasons to take part at least in the
round table. The experience from the last HelenOS meeting during which
we joined a Google hangout using a single laptop suggests that it would
be also more comfortable and practical to join the hangout using
everyone's own computer and camera from a place of his/her choice.

The hangout would have to have some rules to make sure it stays on topic
and confined to a reasonable time frame, e.g. 1 hour.

The HelenOS meetings would still go on but either without or at least
with restricted and rather informal round table. The meeting could be
more focused on a particular topic and more space can be given to things
that don't fit the round table format well. We can also use it to
socialize a little more.

And of course, if the hangout turns out to be not necessary for any
single occasion because there would be none of the remote developers
joining in, the round table would take place off-line at the meeting and
the hangout would be cancelled.

As a remote developer, do you think this step would be useful to you?
Would you make use of this opportunity?

As a local developer, would you be willing to first join the hangout and
then attend the meeting?

Jakub
