thanks for the info, that explains it. I was surprised as Jakub's initial
progress looked very good. What a shame. Let's hope ESA can get things back
on the road soon :-(

Thanks for your interest in the progress of the SOCIS project. But you
probably weren't informed that Jakub's project has been temporarily
suspended because ESA SOCIS 2013 still hasn't properly taken off -- the
official coding period has not been started yet, the students haven't
received their initial payment yet, etc. It was a joint decision taken
by Jakub J., Jakub K. and me.
It is definitively a shame on ESA for failing to organize SOCIS in a
proper way, but there is still promise that SOCIS will overcome all the
issues and won't be cancelled completely. However, given the current
circumstances were simply cannot ask Jakub K. to continue working on his
project (unless he voluntarily decides to do so in his own spare time).
Sorry that we didn't inform about these facts on the mailing list
earlier, we simply wanted to avoid spreading the embarrassment and
overall disappointment from SOCIS.
