The system tries to probe 4 instances of ata_bd on 4 different I/O base addresses. The first two instances succeed to attach, each finding one device (hard disk and cd-rom, respectively), the other two find no device so they refuse to attach. I believe if you tried ls /loc/devices, you should see the two ATA devices. Cheers, Jiri
