I am not against the Thursday evenings per se, but I have always rather
enjoyed the Saturday afternoon time. It has some psychological
advantages: People are not tired after a long workday, they have usually
nowhere to hurry (there is a yet another free day following) and even if
the meeting is longer than expected, there is still plenty
of time to catch the last metro or train.
Therefore my suggestion is to alternate the Saturday afternoons and
Thursday evenings on a monthly basis. After several rounds we may be
even able to converge to a single schedule more easily, because we will
have a direct comparison of the two alternatives.
Since May is a little special due to the public holidays, I'd
like to suggest we exceptionally hold the meeting in May on Friday 8th
May, at 14:00 (Friday is public holiday).
I like this idea. Count me in for Friday May 8th.
