First of all, thanks for your interest in HelenOS and welcome to our mailing list! I am slightly confused when you mention HelenOS as your choice for this year's GSoC. Surely you must have noticed that the Microkernel devroom was not accepted as a mentor organization in 2018. In order to answer your question anyway, even though one clearly cannot participate on a HelenOS project this year, something small such as detecting the hw feature (PAE or PCID) would have done. > Otherwise, is it fine if I work on an unrelated bug?
