Hi,

looks like this somehow dropped out of meeting minutes... Now when you use
sysinst on ia32/amd64 and install HelenOS onto a hard disk, it will be
configured with an actual persistent file system under the new directory '/
w' (I know, not perfect, but just a cosmetic issue there).  This directory
exists both when running a live CD and a hard disk install. When running a
hard disk install, its contents should persist across reboots.

So far tetris was changed to store its high score table under /w, so now you
can preserve those great high scores of yours.

Of course that means you should reboot the system cleanly not to corrupt
your file system! There isn't a 'reboot' or 'shutdown' command yet, so you
need to manually eject /w:

# vol eject /w

then you can remove power / close Qemu or drop to kcon and type reboot.

There is still lot of work to do in this area, both in terms of making more
of HelenOS state/config persistent and in terms of making persistent storage
more widely/easily available (such as on other platforms).

Cheers,

Jiri
