Hi,

fyi, Jano told me on IRC that amdm37x driver only ever worked in Qemu(Linaro
fork). I tried building latest revision from https://git.linaro.org/qemu/
qemu-linaro.git as well as 2011.02-0 release and it kept crashing on me when
I ran qemu-system-arm -machine beaglexm.

I made a best effort to port the amdm37x driver to libdisplay/libgfx in
https://github.com/jxsvoboda/helenos/commits/gfx but could not test it due
to the above.

If anybody has a suggestion how this could be tested, please let me know.

Best regards,

Jiri

Předmět: [HelenOS-devel] Display mode change (with Beagle/amdm37x driver)?
"
Hi Jano (or anybody else who knows),

the Beagle amdm37x display driver implements a 'mode change' entry point. Is
there any way to exercise it? Did you test it? I couldn't find any way to
initiate mode change.

I was looking at the way mode change is implemented in libgraph/compositor,
but I don't quite understand it. A visualizer can report a 'mode change'
notification which seem to direct the compositor to, in return, request that
visualizer to change mode, which, in reponse, changes the mode. Now that
does not make any sense to me. Moreover, no visualizer seems to generate
this notification so I don't see any way this could be executed.

I'm just trying to understand whether we support changing modes, and thus
whether this is a feature that I need to implement before switching
compositor -> display server. (Also it would be good to know whether the
mode change code in amdm37x is tested or not).

Thanks and best regards,

Jiri
