As I did previously, I tried to take more detailed notes from the video what
people are struggling with, where we we could make improvements:
HelenOS in VirtualBox
- although thumbnail shows 0.14.1, he's actually running 0.12.1
VirtualBox
- Why did he need to increase video RAM?
- Does it really cause problems if video accel is enabled?
- "Retro OS, looks like Win97 :-)"
- noted lack of icons
- Big lag
- >1 vCPU?
- need coalescing mouse motion events
- other reasons? (e.g. specific behavior of mouse?)
- could not open text file (that he created)
- text editor did not have Open (it has now)
- tried to open with Navigator - tries to exec .txt files
- Editor did not automatically apppend .txt extension - could not be
detected if we wanted
- had to search for Tetris - now it's in Start menu
- tried pkg install .. but no luck with Network (did that work in
VirtualBox in 0.12.1?)
- pkg is really really bad
notes
- telnet (which I'm woring on now) is great, but completely out of scope
for BFU
- need shutdown and UI instaler
- fix lag
- test more with VirtualBox
- finish resizing

I am somewhat perplexed by his recommendations regarding the video settings.
It is very strange how much lag he is experiencing. Not sure if part of the
culprit could be
him having >1 virtual CPU in VirtualBOx (in which case HelenOS is slower),
also I really need to make the desktop coalesce mouse move events when it is
not keeping up.
