there already is a ticket https://www.helenos.org/ticket/300 filed 14 years
ago by me :-D. I added milestone to it to give it more attention. I will try
to look into it.

Yes, we should finally do a major overhaul of the APIC, I/O APIC, PCI,
MSI, ACPI and related code to make interrupts work reliably on a modern
x86 PC. If only the day had more than 24 hours .. ;)
