I'm also on a Centos5 system, with the same problem. It ships with
automake 1.9.6, and autoconf 2.59.
This incantation works well for me (so far), and implies that there is
*NOT* a requirement for automake 1.10.:
svn update
aclocal
automake -a -c
autoconf
autoreconf --force --install --symlink
./configure --with-pcre --with-tokyocabinet --without-sql
--with-graphviz
I've had zero problems so far.
Now, I've a need to go find a large wooden plank on which to knock...
