I have been testing CFengine 3 successfully for the past month and I'm now
trying to re-scale my configuration to properly support my work
environment. My company has approximately 3,000 devices spanning three data
centers that is segregted into production, dev, qa, and lab environments. I
would appreciate your guidance and assistance with the following question.
I have been unable to find answers to them.
- Configuring CFengine in distributed policy server configuration.
- For example, 1 Master policy server feeding X slave policy servers
slaves
- What is an optium or recommended policy server to client ratio?
- High availability configuration.
- I have tried unsuccessfully to use a "list" of policy servers
instead of "phost string => "w.x.y.z". Ideally I would like the
clients to
have access to multiple locally reachable policy servers in the
event of a
failure. Another option available is hardware based load
balancing, but I
first want to see what is available from CFengine.
