JarleB,

thank you very much for your detailed answer.
I can see a little clearer now.

The background of my fourth question are mainly
security concerns. All configurations on every
server is not a suitable way for me.
Therefore i need to write a class (class_def.cf), that
contains defintions of all others classes, using
"copy_from" anyhow, so that only the reasonable
configurations will be provided. The real configuration-
process can then follow in a second step on every host.

To my questions 5 and 6: Even if i will let of
my "control-fetishism", in the role of an administrator i can't
imagine that there won't be the need for a "planed order" anymore.
For example i have to ensure that additional devices are
configured first and then the database-configuration can
proceed (question 5). If i write everything in one class,
that won't be a problem. But maybe i have more then 20 classes,
that will apply to one server. cfegine will really capture all
necessary dependencies for me?

My question 6 is related to something similar. I have to
consider "inter-host-dependencies" too. I need to execute
sql-statements prior to deploy the jar-files on the webserver.
Or i just want to execute some changes only on a few
of servers that is members of a specific class.

I will first go on with some smaller configurations and certainly
some things will become clearer with more practice then. I have an idea, how to
start now.

Thank you very much
Sebastian
