I have now tested on 3.1.2 in addition to 3.0.5p1 and 3.1.5a1. The grep2 promise fails in each case. But it works for Neal in 3.1.4. Makes no sense! Ok, I just stripped the readstringlist out of my test bundle to resemble Neal's abbreviated test and it works! For some bizarre reason the presence of the readstringlist function causes grep2 (which is unrelated to the readstringlist) causes grep2 to fail.
