Subject: Is any one using CFEngine for enterprise scheduling

Hello,
We are moving our AIX systems to LINUX and have an opportunity to rework
one of the reporting database refresh jobs. Currently we use several scripts
spread out across a number of systems that are scheduled to kick off at
different times. This normally works until one of the scripts takes longer than
normal, and then it's a train wreck.

It seems like it might be a good opportunity to put this process under
cfengine control, or is this trying to fit a square peg into a round hole?

In the past I have had a little experience with the BMC product Control-m
which acts like an enterprise cron on steroids. I think something like that
would be overkill and I am already using cfengine to maintain just about
everything else on the new systems.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
