I'm by no means a Mac guru, but I believe this hostname is just pulled from your /etc/hosts file. Edit this file, and try changing the hostname there by dropping the .local from the end. I believe that should fix this for you.

CFengine has a ${host} variable which shows up as 'hostname.local' on the Mac. I want to set the parameter to just 'hostname' Is there any way to shorten this string within a CFengine file. I know I can do with with another script, but I would like to avoid using external scripts all the time. Thanks in advance, cheers, ski -- "When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it connected to the entire universe" John Muir Chris "Ski" Kacoroski, [EMAIL PROTECTED], 425-489-6263 _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
