After adding the following while trying to figure this out:
guile {
debug yes;
};
It stopped throwing the errors. Should the default config file have an empty
guile block in it by default?

No, I don't use it that I know of. Everything appears to be working that is.

do have some Rewrite-Function(s) in my hints file, is a Rewrite-Function guile?
