Hi all,
I've installed Debian 12 with the Root-Partition (and the /boot directory) on two NVMEs with a software RAID 1 (legacy BIOS / no UEFI Boot). Everything was working. I don't know what I have changed but now GRUB does not boot (automatically) anymore. I get: error: file `/boot/grub/i386-pc/normal.mod´ not found. $prefix and $root are both correct and if I just type insmod normal the module is loaded successfully. I can start normal and get the Menu and can boot without any problems. It just does not boot automatically. I've already ran grub-mkconfig and update-grub no avail. When I (intentionally) try to load a module that is not present, I get an error message with the correct path. I can also call ls $prefix/boot/grub/i386-pc/ and get a list of all the modules. Filesystem is Ext4 e2fsck reports no errors. MD-Raid mirror is okay even ran a full verify. I dont understand what the difference is between my insmod normal and the one that is executed automatically. Best Regards Tobias
