There's two options for configuring things in Guix (System or Home):

1. Use the appropriate service
2. Use the underlying configuration file

The services (both System and Home) provide a nice consistent interface to
various bits of system configuration. I find them particularly useful for
common configuration that's not going to change that much.

Nonetheless, underneath (in most cases) they simply create the underlying
configuration file. So, if something is difficult to configure using a service
(or there isn't a service) you can fall back to using a config file.

In this case I would use Guix Home to copy a ~/.Xresources file in and not
worry about configuring X if it works for you.
