That's interesting, It seems Kotlin is a challenge. What are the current challenges with Kotlin? Is it Kotlin's dependency on Gradle? or sth else?
To be honest, though, Gradle is a very important part of the Java ecosystem and is essential for achieving full-source bootstrapping of Java components(such as spring framework etc.). Since Java’s release model involves distributing pre-built JAR files rather than source code, having Gradle allows us to rebuild these JAR files, which is very important. live well, Roy On Wed, Mar 25, 2026 at 12:16 AM Vagrant Cascadian <[email protected]> wrote: > On 2026-03-24, Roy Pan wrote: > > I would like to inquire whether anyone has experience or insights > regarding > > Java Gradle bootstrapping. > > Earlier this month, someone posted about successfully bootstrapping > gradle on guix-devel: > > Success with Gradle 4.5.1 (+JUnit 5 and Spock) > https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/guix-devel/2026-03/msg00180.html > > live well, > vagrant >
