This is a help channel.  I don't want everyone to be forced to subscribe to
the list just to post a question.  This discourages people from asking.
(I know it does, it discouraged me from asking in other projects lists, 
and it even discouraged me from contributing a bug report or a patch at
times).

I have spent more time in my life reading (and sometimes participating) in
discussions about spam on mailing lists than I spent deleting the spam :)
