what's the partition you installed the system? because (hd1,0) for grub is the first partition of your second disk, (hd0,11) is the 10th partition of your first disk and hd2s1 is the first partition of you second disk for GNU Mach. also, in the first time you boot the system you have to add -s to the kernel line to boot in single user mode. please read the install guide: http://www.debian.org/ports/hurd/hurd-install pietro. -- "Educators, generals, dieticians, psychologists, and parents program.
