Heh. Good luck! It's probably not hard to write something that recognizes 80% of makefiles--but the _real_ syntax of makefiles is nowhere near as simple to manage. Just as an example of the issues: remember that comments and blank lines, and even make preprocessor statements (ifeq, etc.) can appear _inside_ a command script for a rule, and subsequent command script lines (beginning with a TAB) are still attached to the rule. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul D.
