I'm sorry if this is off-topic, but it seems relevant to GNU smalltalk.
In the NEWS file in the 3.2.91 I read "The socket code will be rewritten (for all platforms) for 3.3 anyway." So I'd like to inquire about GNU Smalltalk 3.3 ... or perhaps a 3.2.6 in the 3.2 series ??
