I suggest getting the original source distribution from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/texinfo and trying to compile that (configure && make). Or, write to whoever created the srpm that you downloaded. If it still fails, then please report the actual error messages, as well as information about the system you're on. There are guidelines for sending bug reports in the top-level README file.
