I apologize if this is a duplicate post I am having computer issues the
morning.
Brennan, I would like to ask you a few questions. Did you consider maybe
checking out facts before you just jumped on board to pass on this information
about this rescue organization? You state you are just passing this on from a
woman that did some fundraising for ROLDA. Did it come into your thoughts that
this may be a good organization and you could be causing more damage to someone
that may be trying to save an animals life right now? Do you know the woman
well that asked you to send this and trust her implicitly before you thought to
send such a damaging piece out? I am sure she has not spent all the money on
alcohol and fripperies as you say. Do you think a rescuer should not be able to
purchase clothing? What about the large organizations such as HSUS taking six
figure salaries? Do you think HSUS employees don't buy clothing and alcohol?
Brennan I can assure you Dana lives on a millionth of what this organization
has yet actually has animals she is caring for right now. Every dime no matter
what organization you donate to doesn't go to animals, there is overhead to
consider. With HSUS It goes to fundraising and lobbying yet Dana a woman trying
to save animals that actually has a rescue unlike many of the large
organizations doesn't have the write to have a drink or clothe herself. Are you
people that are sending this out, seriously serious? How can you do this to a
rescue organization saving animals lives? I know how long ROLDA has been around
and they are saving lives. Does this matter to you? If so I would think before
you are so quick to send out post such as these that could destroy this rescue.
Where will the animals go then?
I spoke to Merritt Clifton this morning because I am a person that checks out
facts. Mr Clifton supports Ms. Costin, because he has actually been to Romania
and seen the good work she is doing for animals and has seen how she lives,
sparsely at that. Have you ever visited this rescue you are sending damaging
post out about? This woman has saved many lives through the years, it's sad
how everyone is ready to hang her from the highest tree without even
considering what she has done to help animals in Romania. Anyone can write
anything about anyone and everyone jumps on the bandwagon of attack.
No one knows for sure these things are fact but, they just pass this along
never thinking about how much she may or may not have done for animals, it's
written on the internet so pass it on truth or not. There is no camaraderie in
rescue. Anyone in cyberworld can write anything they want no matter how
horrible and everyone jumps in with both feet ready to "Take them down" never
considering they may be destroying one of the only rescues in the area never
considering years of work that person has done to save animals lives.
I have seen so many good rescues and organizations destroyed. U.S. Animal
Protection being one that has been attacked I know first hand how it feels. I
have worked years for the protection of animals and some nut writes whatever
they want and anyone without common sense is ready to cross post and attack
never considering the nearly twenty years my group put in rescue. I have seen
it happen to more people in rescue than I can count.
I know what she must be doing through. So many I worked with through the years
have all backed away from doing any type of rescue as have I because of attacks
just like this one on Dana Costin. Hundreds of lives were lost and will be lost
that we could have saved.
I sure it wont be long until she has also has enough and leaves rescue.
People helping with this attack are only distracting her from the animals she
is trying to save right now. Just another attack on a good rescuer is all I see
here. The internet at one time I thought was the best thing to ever happen to
rescue now I think differently.
The organization that should to be called out is HSUS. This organizations has
taken in over a billion dollars and has not one shelter and during the biggest
disaster for animals in history, sent animals to kill shelters. This just goes
on ignored year after year. HSUS that is not helping animal rescues and
sanctuaries in the U.S. that are in peril during this economic catastrophe yet
is sitting on millions. Call out the organizations passing out six figure
salaries not the small organizations barely surviving. This is the biggest
problem the animal movement has, not the small rescue groups trying to save
animals with little or no funding, like ROLDA.
I don't believe for a minute this woman is living some extravagant life. So
what if she bought herself a sweater or pair of shoes. I have seen the witch
hunt and hundreds of emails on rescue groups all week long. I rarely respond to
these groups or rescue anymore because of the attacks on my organization and I
was a damn good rescuer. I just feel compelled to say something because, I see
what's coming and hope it ends before this rescue shuts down permanently.
I personally have had enough and this just confirms it even more for me. Every
year its someone new that is attacked and every year we lose another rescuer
because of the internet attacks.
Please, those of you with common sense out there, think twice before sending
post regarding ROLDA or any rescue group or organization without knowing the
facts. Do not take just anyone's words or documents that may or may not be
fact. Furthermore read the documents don't just forward out. What if, just
what if she is doing a good job and it's simply someone with a vendetta
slandering her? Think about checking the facts out before you ruin a woman
trying to save animals lives. I don't believe she got into rescue to simply
abscond with money. This woman from all that I have been told loves the animals
and wants to save them from horrible conditions in Romania, and is in it for
that reason only. I am really saddened so many mean people have involved
themselves in this movement. I can see no movement in this movement. Every year
it gets worse for animals and we lose more rescues because of these types of
internet attacks.
You people keep passing on your information and you will be sure to wipe out
every good rescuer out there. Who will suffer? Who will be left in the cold?
The animals.
Also, I notice is when someone responds to these types of post, they
person that sent it, will send it back to the person that wrote the damaging
blog about the rescue and this exacerbates the problem. The person that started
the blog then attacks the person that has an opinion and so there it goes again
more internet fights and back and forth. Do not do this with my email. I am a
member here and have been for years and you do not have my permission to do so.
This was meant for this group only and do consider its a violation of the terms

opinion and I am entitled to that without fear of being attack for my opinion.
