I'm interested in highlighting my search results in Ferret (http:// www.railsenvy.com/2007/2/19/acts-as-ferret-tutorial#highlighting). According to this, I have to change my data storage to reference from the index in order to do this. That sounds... dangerous. A potentially sub-optimal data storage strategy that might not scale for the sake of search result highlighting.
Has anyone done this that could provide some practical wisdom?
