Okay, so turns out I missed the part about source priority (gems using git 
will be resolved first). The gemspec is requiring the lib to which it 
belongs, which in turn is barfing because the gem dependencies haven't been 
resolved yet. I guess that solves this issue, though getting around it the 
source priority to make this work will be interesting.
