I am going to post on my new technologies tried thread just wanted to post up that we had 3 hexayurts in our camp.
I used the Pregis Honeycomb cardboard and it had the same thermal factor as a tent. More on why on the other thread. Roof Vent using an air filter let in plenty of light and it was quite nice during the day. No major issues with wind. I don't think I will build an all triangle roof again for a stretch. It didn't seem stable enough. Set up went great. Tear down was also great. I bi-directional taped the yurt to the tarp and the tape actually peel right off at the end of the week. The tape also peeled off the honeycomb cardboard around the roof and walls so there was less cutting then last year. No playa in the hexy except when we left the door open. Didn't do an airlock. Used a Honeycomb pallet and one extra 1" piece with 24 rolls of toilet paper to create a springy bed. Put gym mats and rugs under a feather bed and it was very nice. Next year we will get memory foam for more cushion. Plenty of room as I did 6' walls and no major storm issues. Used 2 anchors fhe first day 4 the second and 7 by the end of the week. I was lazy and hot and rolled the dice an got lucky. I would not recommend not staking it completely down the first day. More on the other thread as some of what happen is hilarious.
