This is certainly a scam. No doubt about that. If it was real, it would
have gone to people she knows, not a listserv of people she doesn't
know. I didn't notice a rush of "Isadora, what has happened? We are so
worried about you" from people she knows who subscribe here.

Most hotels take a credit card to hold against charges. You can leave,
just by exiting the front door and they will charge your card! One
does not even HAVE to check out!

Do not send any money until you know what's really going on. Scams
like this are all over the place, even if you know the person, check
in with them before sending anything!
