Would it be more appropriate to do:
public String uniqueColumnString(Iterator iterator) {
int result = name.hashCode();
while ( iterator.hasNext() ) result += iterator.next
().hashCode();
return Integer.toHexString(result).toUpperCase();
}
instead of
public String uniqueColumnString(Iterator iterator) {
int result = 0;
while ( iterator.hasNext() ) result += iterator.next
().hashCode();
return ( Integer.toHexString( name.hashCode() ) +
Integer.toHexString(result) ).toUpperCase();
}
This would generate shorter names
