Semakin menjadi-jadi pengiklanan bolasepak piala dunia oleh semua pihak di Malaysia sekarang ini yang menggunakan bendera England iaitu lambang salib merah. Bendera salib merah ini ialah bendera St George yang dipakai oleh tentera Inggeris semasa menewaskan tentera Islam di Palestin semasa perang salib. Begitu tidak sensitifnya umat Islam di Malaysia. Sedangkan di England sendiri kerajaan di sana begitu berhati-hati menggunakan bendera England untuk tidak menyinggung perasaan orang Islam di sana. Laporan 6 Mei 2006 menyatakan kerajaan telah melarang balai bomba di kota London mengibarkan bendera England untuk tidak menyinggung perasaan umat Islam minoriti di sana.
Tapi kita di Malaysia , Melayunya lebih England daripada orang England sendiri. Pengacara sukan Hasbullah Awang dalam iklan televisyen Maxis begitu riang sekali berlatarbelakangkan bendera England.
