No. It's just historical, there was never a need to also implement https.
IMO protocol should be configurable also.
It would be nice ;) I added the option for the source location in
April with "location.protocol". So probably the best thing to do is to
add:
plugin.1.configuration.destination.location.protocol.
Should be a quite trivial fix. See the source patch in:
http://svn.hippocms.org/viewvc/hippo-tools/hippo-wdbp/trunk/src/java/nl/hippo/webdav/batchprocessor/Configuration.java
