We have a problem to configure custom error pages in a Cocoon/Tomcat/Apache situation. In the attached file you can see virtual host configuration, but it doesn't work. We still get cocoon's "Resource not found" exception for non existing documents.

I checked HTTP header (using firefox plugin "Live HTTP headers") and found that there is a response code 404 for non existing pages. IMO this means that we should not change anything in the sitemap and that this is only Tomcat/Apache configuration issue.

Do you have any idea what is the problem.

The path you specify is relative to the DocumentRoot, so in your
configuration the pages should have the following full path:

/export/www/html/export/www/html/error_pages/foutpagina-....html

I don't suppose that's right, so you should make it:

    ErrorDocument 403 /error_pages/foutpagina-404.html
    ErrorDocument 404 /error_pages/foutpagina-404.html
    ErrorDocument 500 /error_pages/foutpagina-404.html
