You can set properties by extracting a part of the content but not the other way around. If you only want to display the publicationDate while editing a document, use the document properties as described on [1] If you do need the publicationDate in the XML, there are some alternatives: - add a date field in your template that the user has to fill in. If you use this date on your site for sorting and displaying, the "original" date entered by the user remains the same even if you have to re-publish your document later because of a typo. - change the workflow so it does transform your document before the workflow copies the document to the www tree. On [2] there is more information about creating your own workflow and the source code for the workflow is on [3] [1] http://www.hippocms.org/display/CMS/Layout+reference#Layoutreference-Documentproperties<http://www.hippocms.org/display/CMS/Layout+reference#Layoutreference-Documentproperties> [2] http://www.hippocms.org/display/CMS/Creating+and+building+workflow+projects [3] http://svn.hippocms.org/repos/hippo/hippo-workflows Jasha Joachimsthal [email protected] - [email protected] www.onehippo.com Amsterdam - Hippo B.V.
