Brandi- The flush should be with warm water (you do not need hot), and should be for the fixative station(s) and the first alcohol. You only need 1 minute in each, just enough to get the solution to pump in.

If not the film will be a build up of the buffer salts from your formalin. To flush replace your formalin containers with hot water and write a program to run each container for 10-15 minutes.
