If the specimen is in-house, we walk it back to the department for correction.  
If outside the hospital, the courier returns it to the clinic/doctor's office 
for correction.  All mislabeled specimens, however, have a form filled out 
(Specimen Rejection form), "copies" of the specimen container are made and a 
report made to QRM is severe enough to warrant.  This is all in accordance with 
CAP.
