I bought a big countertop jar opener a few years back for the same reason, only we have very large jars that we can't even get our little female hands around. The jar opener was supposed to open all sizes, but it wasn't able to open either our large ones or our small ones. Big waste! I hope you find something that works. Maybe one of us should invent jars that are really airtight and still easy to open! Lori
