It's a lot easier/cheaper for reproducibility, HR, and compliance to just
buy an autostainer to do your special stains. Trying to do them by
hand with unregistered techs is a bad idea. They are called "special"
;) for a reason.

Buy a "special" ;) stainer, have the "special"ist ;) from the stainer
company set it up to the Pathologist's specifications. Have your
unregistered techs change the reagents, take the slides off the machines,
and check the boxes on the logs.

Your Pathologist, HR, the Federal Government, and the Insurance Companies
will thank you.

                                                       Sincerely,

                                                               Jay A.
