Hi all, I'm hoping to get some input from anyone who has a Revco UxF Series -80 freezer. My lab bought the 28.8 cu.ft. version (model #UXF60086A60) about a year ago and have had nothing but trouble since.
It ran beautifully for a few months then suddenly failed and we almost lost all of our tissue. The service tech came out, told us it was a compressor problem, and they gave us a new freezer. Fast forward a few months and suddenly the new freezer has failed again. Still waiting on the tech to come out and look at it but it looks like it's the exact same issue again. None of the other -80s that are running off the same electrical panel are having trouble, so I can't blame it on the power source. Has anyone else experienced this with these freezers? I'm starting to get worried that they're just going to offer us a new freezer and I'll have to go through this whole process again in a couple of months. Is our lab just insanely unlucky and happened to get 2 rare duds in a row or do these freezers have a reputation? Thanks so much!
