Hi everyone,
I have been doing histology professionally for the past 5 years in an academic research lab setting (and an additional 5 years for my own grad studies). I take pride in the samples I have processed, cut, stained, and I love being able to troubleshoot any challenges or questions that the lab encounters. While I have this feeling for the actual work churned out, I can’t help but feel left out in lab meetings when actual data are presented and discussed. It makes me feel I don’t do enough. I guess what I’ve struggled with is that I do want to be a part of doing data procurement and analysis, but with the amount of work routine histology requires there’s not enough time in the day to also do microscope work and count for data. For those who are in a similar setting, do you share the same feeling? My apologies in advance if this is a silly thing to share/ask, but it has been bugging me for some time now.
