A position is available for a full-time histotech in a busy, exciting NYC 
research Histopathology Core. The Core provides state-of-the-art histology 
services, training and consulting for the scientific and clinical research 
community.  We seek a dynamic, motivated individual with expertise in histology 
and related techniques. The primary responsibilities will include tissue 
specimen processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining; automated and manual 
immunohistochemical and immunofluorescence techniques. Preparation of reagents 
and solutions required for analysis.  Maintain laboratory instrumentation, 
equipment, supply and inventory.  Perform quality control and quality assurance 
tasks as required.

Strong communication and language skills are critical as the position requires 
active interactions with the Core's customers, including one-on-one training, 
and assisting in the collection and organization of data and results.  
Competency with standard office software such as MS-Word and Excel and Lab 
Information Management Systems (LIMS) is expected.  The position requires a BS 
degree or higher and at least 2 years lab experience utilizing 
histology-related techniques.
