Subash: Since the main purpose of using a pressure cooker for HIER is the rapid and reliable pre-treatment of sections while PREVENTING boiling and potential tissue detachment, you really shouldn’t be experiencing any bubbling. If you are, then your PC isn’t sealed adequately and the only way to fix that problem is to replace the gasket or find another way to tighten the lid.. I’ve never heard of anything that you can put inside of a PC that can change the way it pressurizes, so I’ll be following this thread to see if anyone else can contribute.
Maria ************************************** Hi there all Can anybody please tell me if they have heard of or perhaps know of a substance that can be placed in the pressure cooker during the antigen retrieval process for immunohistochemistry. This prevents excessive bubbling and lifting up of sections. I did somehow come across such info a while back, but seem to have lost it. Many thanks.
