Howdy Carl and all Histonet Subscribers, The Image Archive that some of you utilized and affectionately associated with Histonet was a functional offering of Histosearch.com, a commercial site hosted from private servers in Florida, USA, and not a part of Histonet.
Histoserach.com mined Histonet’s post-archive and mirrored it, thereby presenting an outward feel and association with Histonet. Similarly, Histosearch.com hosted links to UT Southwestern’s Histonet subscription page and UT Southwestern’s Histonet Ownership page, furthering the presentation of a formal relationship. As you may have gleaned from the incorporation of past participle in the preceding description, the content on Histosearch.com is no longer functional, with the domain’s owners allowing it to go dark. We are saddened about the loss of image sharing functionality, and saddened that the loss is now being associated with Histonet. As we at UT Southwestern move forward with challenges that face Histonet, an image sharing archive is on the wishlist. On a personal note, Carl, we all thank you for your dedicated contributions to the global histology community. Your words of wisdom and posts on your personal bench practices are appreciated; they have helped a great many. If so, is there another Histology site that allows image uploads?
