Validate all reagent changes. The core principle is that you have
introduced an uncharacterized variable to a validated system. Reagent
alcohol is typically ethanol denatured with methanol and/or isopropanol.
The exact ratio and type of denaturants can differ between vendors. These
components are not inert and can affect tissue hydration, dehydration
rates, and differentiation of eosin.
